Shopping For the Person Who Has Everything? Gift the Gift of Bedding!

Many of us have found ourselves in the same well-known predicament… A birthday or holiday season has come upon us and it is our job to think up a wonderful gift idea for the “person who has everything”. I’m sure you know the individual I’m talking about. They are the self-sufficient consumers, the independent shoppers; they are the folks who make it a point to first figure out exactly what it is they might want to need, then promptly make it a point to go out and get it for themselves! They don’t realize the havoc this causes to the forthcoming gift giver who somehow was bestowed with the task to find them a meaningful gift. As if the holiday season wasn’t stressful enough…

Today I have some good news to deliver to you. Allow me to reverse the roles and actually give you a gift, which will come with an understanding of a very valid technique that can be used when faced with the above dilemma. What most people dread most when it comes to finding a gift for the person who has everything is the fear that they will give a duplicate item. The gift idea I propose can in fact be a duplicate, and it will still be appreciated, and utilized nonetheless. The gift idea I suggest is bedding! It may sound simple, but let me explain…

The first thing to point out, as mentioned above, is the fact that the person will undoubtedly already have some bedding in their possession. So while your labors might at first glance appear to be duplicate efforts, they can in many cases be welcomed duplicates. Consider the fact that it is not uncommon for the average home to have more than one bed. This fact alone is on your side, and has thus dramatically reduced your chances of gift-giving failure. Your endowment will unquestionably be a welcomed addition to one of the other beds they might have in their home. But that’s not all…

Consider as well the fact that when it comes to extra sheets, comforters, pillows, duvet covers, and the like, that we’re talking about a “the more, the merrier” type of commodity. Sheets need to be changed, pillows eventually lose the soft fluffiness they once employed, a new duvet cover can add a new flair to a stagnantly decorated room; it is just a fact of life. And that is where you can come in as the life of the party, bearing fresh and functional gifts and adding a welcomed surprise.

Now that we’ve solidified the overall game plan, let’s talk bedding specifics. To begin with, it would not be wise to impose any grandiose style or color characteristics that you might take special pleasure in upon the gift recipient. The idea here is to keep things as simple as humanly possible. A plain white sheet set made of Egyptian cotton would certainly not offend on any bed. Likewise, a new goose down comforter with or without matching pillows would be honored and coveted. An easy way to spruce up what they already own is to supply them a new duvet set. The choices are endless, and can fit just about any budget. So now a path has been set before you, take action on the ideas and you will see the positive results that your actions will have on the person who has everything. Happy shopping!
